1. Who is responsible for your information
Daniel Monk, trading as Kappa DayZ, is the data controller for personal information collected directly through the Kappa website, community services, and store. The postal contact address is 7 Kyrle Street Ross-on-Wye HR9 7DB.
2. Information Kappa may collect
Kappa may process account identifiers and profile details from Discord and Steam, including usernames, platform IDs, avatars, linked-account status, and server identifiers.
For store activity, Kappa may process order references, purchased products, selected server, price, currency, payment status, promo-code use, delivery status, and support history. Full card details should be handled by the payment provider and not stored by Kappa.
Technical information may include security logs, approximate network information, browser or device information, access times, error reports, and server activity needed to protect and operate the services.
3. Where information comes from
Information may be provided directly by you, generated when you use Kappa services, or received from connected providers such as Discord, Steam, the payment provider, game servers, and anti-abuse or hosting services.
4. Why information is used
Kappa may use information to create and secure accounts, verify player identity, process orders, deliver digital products, operate leaderboards, enforce server rules, prevent fraud, respond to support requests, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations.
Depending on the activity and applicable law, processing may be necessary to perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the community, or act on consent. Any optional marketing or non-essential tracking should rely on an appropriate choice.
5. Sharing and service providers
Information may be shared only where necessary with hosting, authentication, Discord, Steam, payment, fraud-prevention, email, support, analytics, and game-server providers. It may also be disclosed where legally required or necessary to protect users and services.
Kappa does not sell personal information. Connected services currently include the website host, Discord for identity and support, Steam for player verification, PayPal for payments, CFTools for priority delivery, and the Kappa DayZ game servers for in-game fulfilment.
6. Retention and security
Information should be kept only for as long as needed for the purpose collected. Account data may be retained while an account is active; transaction and tax records may be kept for required legal periods; support and security records may be retained for an appropriate period based on risk.
Kappa will use proportionate access controls, authentication, logging, backups, encryption provided by trusted services, and staff restrictions. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Automated processing
Account and server checks may automatically determine whether a product can be delivered to a linked Steam account or selected server. Where an automated check appears incorrect, players can contact staff for manual review.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live and the legal basis used, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent where consent is relied upon.
You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority. UK users can contact the Information Commissioner's Office. Requests may require identity verification before account information is disclosed or changed.
9. Cookies and connected services
Information about website storage and access technologies is available in the Cookie Policy. Opening Discord, Steam, or a payment provider may also subject you to that provider's privacy terms.
10. Contact and policy changes
Material changes will be posted here with a new revision date. Privacy questions can be emailed to kappadayz@icloud.com or raised through a private ticket in the official Kappa Discord or sent by post to 7 Kyrle Street Ross-on-Wye HR9 7DB.
